As part of our Speed the Light goal setting we provide the pastors with a “Passport” that covers many of the projects we need to raise money for in the coming year. I have about 5 past passports that I looked through and decided to try to make this year’s look more like a passport. After some searching I found a number of authentic immigration stamps that I tied into the design. I hope this piece accomplishes it’s goal of sparking interest and it helps raise money for the projects.
I wanted to present all of the sermon series I had a hand in molding at CLA and so below I have included (almost) all of the DVD cases. Many of these look much better on the case then they do flat, but here they are. It is fun to look back on 2 years or so of design work and criticize it. I would have done a lot different now and I’m sure I will look back to the designs I do today and criticize them as well… The Not So Easy Button, Gold Medal, and Search for Significance Cases were all from scratch created in Photoshop. One Month to Live and Just Walk Across the Room were prepackaged series that I used graphics from and put them into our shell. Some of the others use stock images.
I created a set of banners and a table runner for The Shepherd’s Guide here in PA. They took them to a conference to flank their table and then the table runner to go over a table with a black table cloth. WE created them to be used together but if they only needed one then the could.(printing done by DGI)
Another CD Design in the books… This one for Kristian & Shannon Walker. We knocked this design out in a couple days since he was in a rush to put the order in. We started with the idea of a hymnal book and/or a piano and the design grew from there. We wanted it to be lighter because the 3 other CD’s that Kristian has in the “Simply” series are all darker.
We took some design concepts from the last albums, the vertical and horizontal lines and the font choice all match the set. The music behind is actually the song Amazing Grace (one of the songs on the album). We made the inside of the case black and white so that the CD its self stands out when open. A great project to work on.
Dave, Duane and Neil are the original Couriers and have been performing together for years. Their most recent Album debuting in 5/2010 needed to attract all audiences. Their normal listeners are older, but they wanted to make the new album look and feel young. With a warm color palette, we were able to bridge the gap and have the contemporary feel that they were looking for.
