Every blog needs one of these… “So I’ve decided to start a blog” or “hello world” posts. But so many of these blogs are followed by a second post 6 months later saying “I’ve been too busy to update.”
This is not that blog.
I’ve been waiting for this day for almost a year now. I have spent hours planning, reading and writing. This is not the first and last. This is the first of many.
Today I turn 30. And today I have decided to make a conscious decision to change who I am and how I spend my time.
At the age of 4 I started attending pre-school. 19 years later when I graduated from college I was supposed to move from learning to doing. But that’s not exactly what happened. Learning, consuming and absorbing was ingrained in me. I took every moment I could to cruise through Google reader or just surf Wikipedia to learn, after all learning and observing is easy, but
“Let us, then, be up and doing” (source)
Today is his 207 birthday… and I’ll take his lead.
This year is the year I make the transition from consumer… someone simply absorbs the world, and I move into action.
This is the beginning of a new journey for me. From a consumer to a producer. What will this blog will become? Only time will tell. I have a plethora of concepts that I want to cover. Experience that I want to share.
So as Howard Schultz ends his letters, I will end this post.
